Maggie Bender-Johnson is President of Bender Insurance Solutions and is proudly part of the third generation of family leading a thriving 100% employee-owned insurance and risk management brokerage.

Serving more than 15 years at BIS, Maggie is most proud of her role in the firm’s decision to become 100% employee-owned in 2018. “The ESOP allows us to align our agency’s dreams with those of all of our team members. A well communicated and managed ESOP gets everyone attuned to working or the success of the agency.”

Carrying on with the BIS tradition, she is steadily becoming involved in local community groups and industry associations:

• The Capital Region Family Business Center (Current Board member, Former AG2 Chair, Leadership Series Graduate)
• California Employer’s Association (Board Member)
• Roseville Communicators Toastmasters (Treasurer and Secretary)

Maggie is passionate about giving back to her community and is excited about future opportunities to do so. Embracing the BIS culture of continuous improvement, Maggie has prioritized her education for the betterment of her customers and our business growth.

• Bachelor of Arts, University of San Francisco
• Master of Business Administration, California State University Sacramento
• Obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and the Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS) professional designations

Maggie lives in Nevada County with her husband Fergus (Sacramento City Firefighter and Attorney) and their four dogs: Fonzie, Chewbaca, Lando and Worf. She enjoys gardening and working her property, hiking, traveling, vegetarian living, anything “Sci Fi” and spending time with her family and friends.
